Deadline Filing
Annual Income Tax Return Deadline: September 30, 2026
June 10, 2026
September 30 is the standard annual deadline for filing your income tax return in Pakistan, covering the tax year that ran from the previous July to June.
Who needs to file
- Your annual income exceeds the taxable threshold (PKR 600,000)
- You own property, a vehicle, or other assets above certain thresholds
- You hold an NTN
- You want to stay on the Active Taxpayers List (ATL)
What happens if you miss it
Late filing carries a penalty of PKR 1,000 per day, removal from the ATL, and β for reinstatement β a separate surcharge. Being off the ATL raises withholding tax on banking, property, and vehicle transactions.
Treat September 30 as the date to plan around. Extensions are not guaranteed.
